MONSTER MISSION by Eva Ibbotson - A book review

By Eva Ibbotson

Three children are kidnapped by three Aunts. They are Minette, Fabio, and Lambert. They are taken to a barren island, where there are lots of different and weird animals like a boderi bird, mermaids, giant worms (or wingless dragons), and lots more. Minette and Fabio are wonderful children, but Lambert is quite the opposite. He remains cranky, shouts for his father, his mobile telephone and stuff like that until Fabio gets irritated because Lambert wasn’t doing his share of work, so he had to do it, because of which Fabio got irritated. Then he (Fabio) beat up Lambert into shape (though Lambert still complained). But Lambert manages to find his mobile telephone. With it he calls his father for help but, as his father realized what type of creative were in there he puts the Island at siege. Meanwhile, the mighty Kraken has given his son to the other children to be taken care of. Will Minette and Fabio be able to save the Kraken ? Read the book to know more.

GEORGE’S SECRET KEY TO THE UNIVERSE - a book review

By Lucy & Stephen Hawking
The first part of the series by Lucy and Stephen Hawking is a little less mysterious book than the others of its series. It takes very less brainwork to figure out who is the villain. It is a type of book which you may find boring at times, and sometimes feel sorry for the hero (George). The book also shows the struggle of George in school and at home. His parents were eco-friendly and no matter how much George pleaded he could not get any electronic device like a computer, which was the thing he wanted most dearly. All this changed when his pig broke the fence and went to the house next door, where he was forbidden to go. But scared for his pig, he went next door where he found the most wonderful thing in the world. It was a computer which could talk and make portals and windows to space ! It  belonged to his new neighbors who had only recently settled there. They were Eric, Susan and their child Annie. Then the villain can steal the supercomputer (Cosmos) and traps Eric in a black hole ! George and Annie have to figure out a way to save Annie’s father Eric.
I like this book because it is told very nicely. It can get very exciting and has many pages devoted to theories of science by different scientists. I recommend this book to people who love science fiction, science and for kids the age of 7 to 11. Not everybody is likely to like this book. This book, truly shows that humans are prone to make mistakes and that some people are very greedy.

GEORGE’S COSMIC TREASURE HUNT - A book review

By Lucy and Stephen Hawking
The second part of the series by Lucy and Stephen hawking is a book which is confusing, chaotic and full of mystery. It takes George and Annie on a treasure hunt in outer space, with the help of a boy named Emmet who manages to fix Cosmos which had spoilt in last story (He fixed it with Eric’s permission, of course).
I like it because it is a mysterious book (perhaps the most mysterious of the series), if you have read all the other books, you will not be able to perceive who is sending these weird messages, which threaten to destroy Earth if they are neglected and followed to even further in the universe.
The plot, is simple but may not be understood by some people. It’s about messages sent on Cosmos (the supercomputer) which leads George and Annie to another planet, Mars to be precise, then on and on and on. Each planet given in the message is something related to life. Such as Mars, which may have got life earlier and then on Titan the largest moon of Saturn, which may be like Earth was before it hosted any kind of life.
I recommend this book for people who have a taste for science fiction, creativity, science and mystery books. This book, along with the others of its series is totally unique and something truly hard to put down.

GEORGE AND THE BIG BANG - A book review

By Lucy and Stephen Hawking
The third part of the series written by Lucy and Stephen hawking is the type of book in which you can never guess who the villain might be as it is a story in which anyone could have motives to do the hacking and making a deadly bomb.
I like this book because it is about technology, science and theories. It is funny, and shows the struggles of the hero George and his best friend Annie as normal schoolchildren and as one of the lucky people who have the power to visit the universe.
The plot is about a bomb planted in large Hadron collider.  It is a quantum bomb. George and Annie have to find who is behind this and if they don’t, the large Hadron collider will explode and the biggest experiment in the world would be destroyed. Then people will think that Eric, Annie’s dad lied about the experiment.

I recommend this book for people who like science fiction who want to collect information about space and who like suspense mystery and adventure books. This book along with the other ones in its series are must read books.

GEORGE AND THE UNBREAKABLE CODE - A book review

GEORGE AND THE UNBREAKABLE CODE
by Lucy and Stephen Hawking

A book review by Krish Yadav

Image result for GEORGE AND THE UNBREAKABLE CODE

This book is one of the four part series written by Lucy and Stephen Hawking about the adventures of two young kids, George and Annie in Space. It is a science fiction story full of unexpected turns and twists. They travel to space by the help of the one and only modern super computer called Cosmos. Strange things happen to them such as banks started handing out free money, supermarkets can’t charge for food and it looks like the world’s best computer, Cosmos has been hacked. George and Annie must find who is behind it otherwise the world may end.

The book’s main characters are George, Annie (George’s best friend), Eric (Annie’s Dad), Susan (Annie’s Mother), Terence and Daisy (George’s Father and Mother) Juno and Hera (George’s little twin sister’s) and Ebot the robot who is a replica of Eric.

The book also includes new ideas and facts about outer space like the only other body where it snows except Earth is one of the Saturn's moons called Enceladus. It also includes real photos taken from space. I recommend it for people who like science fiction and adventures stories and those who want to know more about the outer space and our solar system. I liked the book a lot and plan to read the other books in the series.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief - A book review

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

by Rick Riordan

A book review  by Krish Yadav

This book is first of an amazing series written by Rick Riordan. It is about a 12 year old New York boy who’s life changes when he gets to know he is a half blood, half God and half human. and his father is Poseidon, Greek God of the sea. My favorite part is when Percy fights Ares, God of War. I recommend the book for people who like Greek Mythology and who like fighting and monsters. I also recommend it for young people. In it Zeus God of Gods thinks that Percy has stolen his lightning bolt ( Master Bolt). It is a good book with surprising turns and twists.

He has a mother who he lives with and his stepfather Gabe. Percy calls him smelly Gabe. Percy also meets Grover the satyr, Annabeth and Chiron the Centaur. He fights many monsters like The Minitor, the Furies and Eindchanta. The gods he meets are Poseidon, Zeus , Ares, Hades, the god of Underworld and Didonis, the God of Wine. Percy was thrown out of 6 schools including Yancy Academy which was his  6th one. After being thrown out of Yancy Percy was attacked by Minitor. Then it seems his mother is dead. Then Percy goes to Camp Half blood where he learns to fight and protect himself. He gets to know that his father is Poseidon when he just finished "Capture the Flag". Then he gets a quest. There is a surprise ending.
